Ek jaal mein do panchhi dono huye ghaayal

In Bollywood movies, movie makers tend to think that teasing is same as romancing, though in real life, the two are regarded as poles apart.
This song to my mind is a teasing song which could have become a romantic song as well, if it was picturised a bit differently, or may be if it was picturised on different actors.
The song is picturised on Vishwajeet and Rajshree. The music tries hard to make up for the picturisation. Hemant Kumar, whose music used to be one of the biggest selling point in Vishwajeet movies is the music director in this movie too. But whereas in other such movies, Hemant Kumar would sing for Vishwajeet, here he has used the voice of Rafi instead. And it must be said that Rafi has done justice to the demads of this song. He has sung this song wonderfully well, and it is his vocals that make this song such a nice song to listen to.
The lighthearted song is written by Kaifi Azmi.
Before I forget to mention it, the movie is called “Do Dil” (1965).

song-Ek jaal mein do pancchi (Do Dil) (1965) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Kaifi Azmi, MD-Hemant Kumar
Lyrics
kaanton mein phansaa aanchal
zulfon mein phansaa ye dil
haay
ho gayi mushqil
ek jaal mein do panchhi
aur dono huye ghaayal
haay haay
ho gayi mushqil
kaanton mein phansaa aanchal
zulfon mein phansaa ye dil
haay
ho gayi mushqil
ek jaal mein do panchhi
aur dono huye ghaayal
haay
ho gayi mushqil
bandar
ghadi ghadi gussa bhi hai
ghadi ghadi raar bhi
jhuki jhuki nazron mein hai
zara zaraa pyaar bhi
ghadi ghadi gussa bhi hai
ghadi ghadi raar bhi
jhuki jhuki nazron mein hai
zara zaraa pyaar bhi
zara zaraa pyaar
soorat hai bhadi bholi
andaaz bade qaatil
haay
ho gayi mushqil
kaanton mein phansaa aanchal
zulfon mein phansaa ye dil
haay
ho gayi mushqil
arre arre kahaan chali
arre arre dil ko leke
chali kahaa gori re
khuli tere dhaake saari
khuli teri choli re
arre arre dil ko leke
chali kahaa gori re
khuli tere dhaake saari
khuli teri choli re
khuli teri choli
le bol uthe ghungroo
le bajne lagi paayal
haay haay
ho gayi mushqil
le bol uthe ghungroo
le bajne lagi paayal
haay
ho gayi mushqil
kaanton mein phansaa aanchal
zulfon mein phansaa ye dil
haay
ho gayi mushqil
ek daal mein do panchhi
aur dono huye ghaayal
haay haay
ho gayi mushqil

Nice song.
I remember it well, I think it was a reasonable hit in its time. The movie also did OK. Biswajeet-Rajshree was a reasonably popular pairing, just like Biswajeet-Mala Sinha.
