Tere bina zindagi se koi shikwaa to nahin shikwaa nahin

I always get myself confused between “Aandhi” and “Mausam”. Both these movies were released in 1975 and both these movies had Sanjeev Kumar as the hero. And both these movies were music lovers’ delight. But the fact remains that the two movies were different movies, with different heroines, different music directors etc.
All these days I have also been under the impression and I have posted many songs from these movies. As it turns out, I was wrong, and the songs of these movies were underrepresented here.
To make amends, here is one song from “Aandhi” (1975). It is sung by Kishore Kumar and it is picturised on Sanjeev Kumar and Suchitra Sen. Gulzar is the lyricist.Incidentally, Gulzar was the lyricist in “Mausam” too. R D Burman is the music director.
Here is this wonderful song from “Aandhi” (1975).

Song-Tere bina zindagi se koi shikwaa to nahin (Aandhi) (1975) Singers-Lata, Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Gulzar, MD-R D Burman
Lyrics
tere bina zindagi se koi shikwaa to nahin
shikwaa nahin
shikwaa nahin
shikwaa nahin
tere bina zindagi bhi lekin zindagi to nahin
zindagi nahin
zindagi nahin
zindagi nahin
tere bina zindagi se koi shikwaa to nahin
kaash aisa ho
tere qadmon se chunke manzil chalen
aur kahin door kahin
kaash aisa ho
tere qadmon se chunke manzil chalen
aur kahin door kahin
sundar saath ho manzilon ki kami to nahin
tere bina zindagi se koi shikwaa to nahin
shikwaa nahin
shikwaa nahin
shikwaa nahin
jee me aata hai
tere daaman me sar chhupa ke ham
rote rahen
rote rahen
jee me aata hai
tere daaman me sar chhupa ke ham
rote rahen
rote rahen
teri bhi aankhon me aansuon ki nami to nahin
tere bina zindagi se koi shikwaa to nahin
shikwaa nahin
shikwaa nahin
shikwaa nahin
tere bina zindagi bhi lekin zindagi to nahin
zindagi nahin
zindagi nahin
zindagi nahin
tum jo kahdo to aaj ki raat
chaand doobega nahin raat ko rok lo
tum jo kahdo to aaj ki raat
chaand doobega nahin raat ko rok lo
raat ki baat hai
aur zindagi baaki to nahin
tere bina zindagi se koi shikwaa to nahin
shikwaa nahin
shikwaa nahin
shikwaa nahin
tere bina zindagi bhi lekin zindagi to nahin
zindagi nahin
zindagi nahin
zindagi nahin
tere bina zindagi se koi shikwaa to nahin

The entire song and its picturisation on Sanjiv kumar and Suchitra Sen is excellent. There is no lip movement but holds the audience steady fast. Gulzar’s lyrics and Rahul Dev Burman’s music beyond imagination.

where was this shot? Khajuraho, Mandu, where? There’s an in-song reference to Ayat’s from the Quran – if that clue can be used.

This will always be one of my favourite songs. Superb lyrics, excellent picturisation, fantastic acting from two of the very best we have ever seen. And the situation makes it one of the most sentimental songs ever. And I am not saying this because I approaching their age now. 😉 I always had these views.
And oh, that dialogue in between during the song is also so touching.
