Dil haay meraa dil

I have mentioned the fact that I was aware of the songs of “Paraayaa Dhan” (1971) and I enjoyed listening to them but I was not aware about the name of the movie. It is only after I opened this blog that I became aware that those much loved songs were from “Paraaya Dhan” (1971).
Raja is responsible, directly and indirectly, for making me aware about the songs of this movie.
Here is a song from “Paraayaa Dhan” (1971) which I had never heard before, not even in 1971, when this movie was first released. I became aware of this song thanks to Raja’s farmaish. After listening to this song once, I wondered what the fuss was all about, but after listening to this song a few more times, this song has grown upon me and now I find this song just as wonderful to listen to as the other songs from this movie.
Here is this song, which is sung by Kishore Kumar. It is picturised on Rakesh Roshan and Hema Malini. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist and R D Burman composed the music.
This song, like most Kishore Kumar-R D Burman collaborations of those days, is just wonderful to listen to.

Song-Dil haay mera dil (Paraayaa Dhan) (1971) Singer-Kishore Kumar, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-R D Burman
Lyrics
Dil haay meraa dil
tera dil dil se dil
mil gayaa
he he he he
haa haa haa haa
hmm hmm
dil haay meraa dil
tera dil
dil se dil
mil gayaa
Dil haay meraa dil
tera dil
dil se dil
mil gayaa
hmm hmm hmm hmm
he he he he
hmm
zulf teri yoon udi
yoon mudi ke ghataa chhaa gayi
hoth tere yoon hile
gul khile ke bahaar aa gayi
pyaar
haay mera pyaar
mere yaar
banke phool khil gayaa
Dil haay meraa dil
tera dil dil se dil
mil gayaa
aankh
teri jo uthi
baadshaahon ke sar jhuk gaye
chaal
aisi tu chali
log raahon mein hi ruk gaye
jaan
haay meri jaan
ye jahaan aasmaan
hil gayaa
dil
haay mera dil
tera dil
dil se dil mil gayaa
roop
tere pe nazar
jab padi
to nazar mil gayi
rang
tera ud gaya
tu kali ki tarah khil gayi
nain
haay mere nain
tere nain mil gaye dil gayaa
dil
haay mera dil
tera dil
dil se dil mil gayaa
hmm hmm hmm hmm
he he he he
hmm
haa haa haa haa
ho ho ho ho
he he he he

a beautiful Pancham composition!
Never knew that it was from Paraya Dhan! I always though it was picturised on Rajesh Khanna.
When I look at it looks as if both are wearing same sort of wigs, one long haired the other short haired! 😉
thanks for the posting!
