Haan deewaanaa hoon main

I first became aware of the movie “Saarangaa” (1960) in 1970s when I heard the title song of this movie in the local station of Vividh Bharati in the evening. It was then that I first heard about music director Sardar Malik. For a considerable time after that, I associated the title song of “Saranga” with Sardar Malik. This song (Saarangaa teri yaad mein(Saarangaa)(1960) )is already posted in this blog.
Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung by Mukesh and it is picturised on Mahipal (I think). Correction- It is Sudesh Kumar. I thank Veena Seth for this information.
Bharat Vyas is the lyricist.
The song is sung superbly by Mukesh, and I am never tired of listening to this song, especially in evenings and nights. Midas touch of Mukesh is clearly evident in this song.

hey atul
now ur turn to be surprised.
i ve been hearing this song on radio from the time i ve been listening to songs the 70s to be exact. and i always thought it was a Raj Kapoor song. coz in those days my mind was set to the fact Mukesh is singing so Raj Kapoor is acting. only today isaw the video

I have always loved this song. It has always touched a chord in my heart. Somehow, like peevisie’s mom above, I always associated it with Raj Kapoor.
Sudesh Kumar acted in lots of movies, almost always the goody-goody guy. Somehow he never made it big.

In this song, Sudesh Kumar is indeed trying to ape Raj Kapoor.
I tend to confuse Sudesh Kumar with Dev Kumar (who played villainish roles).

Considering all (lyrics/composition/singing) this is no doubt a perfect song.
This song is picturised not on Mahipal but Sudesh Kumar.
