Aawaaz de kahaan hai duniya meri jawaan hai

I have been posting the songs of “Anmol Ghadi” (1946) these days. It was pointed out to me that I had not posted arguably the most popular song of the movie, viz. “Aawaaz de tu kahaan hai”. Was it really so ? I checked up and found that I had posted two songs from this movie starting with “A” , but the song under discussion was not one of them. And I was actually under the impression that the song was already posted !
Better late than never. Here is this song. This song is a duet song by Noorjahaan and Surendra. Tanveer Naqvi is the lyricist and Naushad composed the music.
This song is indeed one of the most memorable songs from this movie. It is wonderful to realise that a song as old as this is still so popular. An evergreen song indeed !

Thanx for both links. ” Awaaz de kahan hai ” Audio quality is excellent, but not concurrent to the video. One of the best music scores(Anmol Ghadi) of that period.

i always heard it as “baaraat jaa rahi hai” on all lines. “aa raat jaa rahi hai…” is more poetic.
