Tinke pe tinkaa chhutti ke din kaa

In this blog, I typically hope to discuss 6-7 songs a day and that enables me to complete a century in 16 days. This is obviuosly subject to conditions being favourable. For instance, I need to have a free hand with no one nagging me. (You got the point I hope) 🙂 With holidays on, and my spouse and kid and pets together, it naturally becomes difficult.
For the last few days, I am away from such “distractions” 🙂 and I hoped to be able to discuss a good number of songs everyday. I have gone to the same place where I had gone five weeks ago. Yes, it is the same place where even electricity is not guaranteed, and internet is the stuff of science fiction. Still, when there was electricity, I managed to get internet connection and discussed a few songs. But for the last one day or so, even that internet connection is not working.
I keep a BSNL 3g datacard as my backup internet connection and that works everywhere including rural areas, but then this place is one which even the normally ubiquitous BSNL would not like to touch with a barge pole, it seems. So even that internet connection is not working. So I am cut off from the rest of the world as of now. I cannot wait to go back to civilisation where I took internet ( and electricity) for granted.
Today the most number of songs that I expect to discuss is this one solitary song. I am typing it out on my computer (now even the electricity has gone off).Since I have no internet available on my computer as of now, I will try and look for a computer with internet connection and post this.
This is a lovely kids’song from a forgotten movie called “Zameen Ke Taare” (1960). It is a joyous song where school kids are rejoicing at the fact that they now will have holidays where they are going to enjoy themselves. Oh, those were the days ! I too was a kid in 1970s, and I too loved to enjoy holidays, especially summer vacations.
Incidentally, the summers of those days hardly bothered me (and others) those days, despite there being no electricity in places where I would mostly spend my holidays. Walking barefeet (and often bareshirted) in hot summer, eating mangoes directly from the trees etc used to be my idea of enjoying holidays those days. These days, I look for the comfort of luxuries like AC and internet. I must have gone soft with age.
This song is sung by Asha Bhonsle and chorus. The song is picturised on one of the Irani kids (Either Daisy or Honey) whom I can not tell apart. Both of them used to play boys in movies of those days.
Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. It must be one of the very first song that Anand Bakshi wrote for a Hindi movie.
S Mohinder is the music director.
Here is this rare song from an obscure movie. Enjoy it and hope that I am soon able to take things like internet and electricity for granted, once again. 🙂

Lyrics
lalla lalalalala
lalla lalalalala
lalla lalalalala
lalla lalalalala
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
aaj saneecharwaar hai
kal aitwaar hai
ho tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
aaj saneecharwaar hai
kal aitwaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
chat se udaayenge patang
ghar waalon ko karenge tang
chat se udaayenge patang
ghar waalon ko karenge tang
aaha kulfi mithhaayiyaan lollipop chewing-gum
kishmish badaam
kal ka programme
bada mazedaar hai
bada mazedaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
aaj saneecharwaar hai
kal aitwaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
kal school band hai
baat ye man-pasand hai
kal school band hai
baat ye man-pasand hai
honge paa ?? phir
chhuk chhuk chale rail
jaise toofaan mail
kal hoga yahi khel
badaa mazedaar hai
badaa mazedaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
aaj saneecharwaar hai
kal aitwaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
bhelpoori khaayenge
kal picture bhi jaayenge
bhelpoori khaayenge
kal picture bhi jaayenge
daddy ko denge taal
mummy chalegi chaal
kahegi hai kamaal
bachhon ka ye khayaal
badaa mazedaar hai
badaa mazedaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
aaj saneecharwaar hai
kal aitwaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
gum apna football hai
haazir Motulal hai
Bholuji football ko
pakdo Motulal ko
maro kick karo goal
hip hip hurray bol
?? bajaao dhol
bada mazedaar hai
bada mazedaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
aaj saneecharwaar hai
kal aitwaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
aaj saneecharwaar hai
kal aitwaar hai
tinke pe tinka
chhutti ke din ka
intezaar hai
