Chaahe dil ki khidki na khuley

Posted on: June 22, 2011

“Bhool Bhulaiyya” (1949) was apparently a light hearted B grade movie made on a shoe string budget. This movie had some funny songs in it.

Here is a fun song from this movie. This song, full with Hinglish terms is sung by a singer called Mohammad Farooqui. Lyricist is Butaram Sharma. Music is composed by Bulo C Rani.

Lyrics are quite funny. I have not been able to get the lyrics entirely right to my satisfaction. I request readers with keener ears to point out the correct/missing words so that we may be able to savour this fun song even more.
PS-Thanks to corrections provided by nahm, now the lyrics are waering a nicer and completed look.

song-Chaahe dil ki khidki na khuley(Bhool Bhulaiyya) (1949) Singer-Md Faarooqui, Lyricist-Butaram Sharma, MD-Bulo C Rani

Lyrics

chaahe dil ki khidki
chaahe dil ki khidki
na khuley
kismat ka phaatak
khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
dil laakh rulaaye
dil laakh rulaaye
aur hamein
kismat ka phaatak
khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa

ab meharbaan apna dear hai
ulfat ki line clear hain
bas jaanoo chakkar near hai
ye gaadi ulti gear hai
pehloo mein my dear hai
ab kiske baap ka fear hai
o dear
dear
dear
dear
dear
dear
dear
dear
dear

chaahe dil ki khidki
chaahe dil ki khidki
na khuley
kismat ka phaatak
khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
dil laakh rulaaye
dil laakh rulaaye
aur hamein
kismat ka phaatak
khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa

gar jeenaa hai to pyaar karo
ek baar nahin sau baar karo
aankhon se aanken chaar karo
aur saat lafang taiyyar karo
pyaar ka tum vyaapaar karo
ulfat ka bedaa paar karo
mat daro
daro
daro
daro
daro
daro
daro
daro
daro

chaahe dil ki khidki
chaahe dil ki khidki
na khuley
kismat ka phaatak
khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
dil laakh rulaaye
dil laakh rulaaye
aur hamein
kismat ka phaatak
khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa
haan khul gayaa

Doubtful / missing words are :

dil laakh ‘rulaaye’
‘aur hamein’
kismat ka phaatak

First stanza :
‘ab’ meharbaan apna dear hai

‘ab’ kiske baap ka fear hai

Second stanza :
aur saat “lafang” taiyyar karo
‘pyar ka tum vyapar karo’
