O preetam pyaare chhod chali ghar baar

In Hindi movies, there used to be a case where a character would decide to leave his/her family/neighbours/friends for ever, not knowing where he/she would go. I call such songs as “chal ud ja re panchhi” song, in honour of the iconic song from “Bhaabhi” (1957) that depicted this scenario.
This kind of songs have been there before the “Bhaabhi” (1957) song as well, for instance in “Seema” (1955) where Nutan, the original tragedy queen deciding to go away from her familiar surroundings ( Kahan jaa raha hai tu ae jaane waale).
Here is a song of this genre from 1947. This song is from a forgotten movie called “Leela” (1947). This song had actors like Surendra, Leela Mishra, Munavvar Sultana, Himalaywala etc in it.
This song is sung by Amirbai Karnataki. Gopal Singh Nepali ( a big name in Hindi peotry) is the lyricist. Music is composed by C Ramchandra.
It is a nice song that has been forgotten with time. It deserves to be better known among music lovers.

This film did not have the star cast mentioned above. The case had Shobha, Veera and Kanu Roy .

I have been looking for this song for over forty years. Hearing it again is a magical experience. Thanks. I am sure you would be able to locate my earlier farmaish Kitna haseen mera piya hae allah by Mahendra Kapur and Kamal Barot from the film Sunehra Jaal.
