Dil ke sheesh mahal mein aayaa ik matwaalaa chor

I have discussed as many as six songs from “Ambar” (1952). And interestingly enough there are still songs from this movie that are not yet covered !
Here is one such song. It is a dance song performed by several female dancers. I can only identify Cuckoo. I request our knowledgeable readers to help ientify the other lead dancer.
This extremely hummable song is sung by Shamshad Begam, Zohrabai Ambalewali and chorus. Shakeel Badayuni is the lyricist. Music is composed by Ghulam Mohammad.

Lyrics

ho ho
ho ho
dil ke sheeshmahal mein aayaa
ik matwaalaa chor ho ho ho
hoy
dil ke sheeshmahal mein aayaa
ik matwaalaa chor
nain milaakar nain se jisne
ho ho
nain milaakar nain se jisne
baandh li pyaar ki dor ho ho o
nain milaakar nain se jisne
baandh li pyaar ki dor ho ho o
dil ke sheeshmahal mein aayaa
ik matwaalaa chor
hoy
aa aa aa aa
aa aa aa
khaali na husn ki pehli nazar kaa waar
haa aa aa
aise chalaaye teer ke
dil kar liyaa shikaar
ha aa aa
aa aa aa
aa aa
mile hain dil se dil haay
mile hain dil se dil haay
mile hain dil se dil
milne ki soorat ho to aisi ho
ho to aisii ho
koi jaane na pehchaane
mohabbat
mohabbat ho to aisi ho
koi jaane na pehchaane
mohabbat ho to aisi ho
koi jaane na pehchaane
mohabbat ho to aisi ho
koi jaane na pehchaane
mohabbat ho to aisi ho
chandaa ki nagri se ud kar
aayaa ek chakor ho
nain milaakar nain se jisne
baandh li pyaar ki dor ho ho
dil ke sheeshmahal mein aayaa
ik matwaalaa chor
hoy
aa aa aa
aa aa aa
aa aa aa
laakhhon mein khushnaseeb
wahi hai jahaan mein
mehmaan ban ke aaye jo
dil ke makaan mein
aa aa aa
aa aa aa
jaley ik aag mein donon
jaley ik aag mein donon
jaley ik aag mein donon
jo haalat ho to aisi ho
ho to aisi ho
koi jaane na pehchaane
mohabbat
mohabbat ho to aisi ho
koi jaane na pehchaane
mohabbat ho to aisi ho
koi jaane na pehchaane
mohabbat ho to aisi ho
koi jaane na pehchaane
mohabbat ho to aisi ho
chham-chham karti aayi dulhaniyaa
apne piyaa ki oar
ho ho ho ho
nain milaakar nain se jisane
baandh li pyaar ki dor ho ho ho
dil ke sheeshmahal mein aayaa
ik matwaalaa chor ho ho ho ho

What a rhythmic beauty it is !!
An another original composer of HFM – Ghulam Mohd need no proverb to describe the immense abilities to create melodies par excellence. Usually some people opine that Ghulam Mohd didn’t stress much on the flow of rhythm in his compositions & stressed more on the reigns of Melody … it’s true to some extent but here in this composition He proves all of them wrong…. a different composition all together certifying his diverse abilities as a sincere composer.
Amber – 1952 had all the ingredients of a possible Indian melody by him. In this duet cum chorus, he perfectly balances the changing foot taping rhythm & the abrupt change over of the switches of flow in antraas of the composition & mastery reconnecting the same with the main rhythm. This style was hugely popular those days esp. it was a trademark style of many compositions of Master ji & HLBR.
