“Anita” (1967) is the third and last movie in the trilogy of mystery woman movie that Raj Khosla made, the other two movies of this series being Wo Kaun Thi and Mera Saaya. But while the other two movies proved to be box office successs, “Anita” (1967) failed to replicate that success.
Many things may have come in the way of this movie. To my mind, the most imortant being the fact that Sadhana, who played the central role in this movie (as in the other two movies) was a pale shaow of her former self. she had lost the spark of her face and eyes because of her illness, and that was a big let down for her followers.
Eralier two movies had musc by Madan Mohan, but in “Anita” 91967), Laxmikant Pyarelal were signed up. Raja Mehdi Ali Khan, the lyricist of the other two movies, was retained though. And of course Lata was the playback singer for Sadhana , as usual.
The songs of this movie were good, but the picturisation of these songs left lot to be desired because of the inablilty of Sadhana to carry off the picturiastions of these songs with the same aplomb as before.
I have discussed one song from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Sadhana and Manoj Kumar. The song is nice no doubt, but as can be seen from the picturisation, Sadhana is quite lackluste in this song.

No doubt…Aneeta is the best movie among other former populer movies of Great Manoj Da with Sadhna…Mostly some songs of This fabulous movie are very melodios as Tujh bin jeevan kaise….and Gore gore chand se mukh pe etc…The great lyricist Raja mehandi ali khan and brightest composer L.p are memorable having offed even today….
