“Manchali” (1971) is a movie that is indelibly etched in my mind mainly because of its title song O manchali kahan chali(Manchali)(1973). This song appeared to me to be playing in Binaca geetlmala all the time, though this song did not figure in the final. This movie also had the wonderful song Gham ka fasaana ban gaya achcha(Manchali)(1973) in it. The naughty song Tan man dhan sab hai tera(Manchali)(1973) is also in this movie.
Prakashchandra has sent me the lyrics of another song. What a wonderful song it is. But at the same time I am surprised that I had not heard this song much those days when the above mentioned songs were so popular. Or perhaps for some reason this song was not getting played when I was listening ! I do not seem to have heard this song.
This song is a party song. It is sung by Kishore Kumar and it is picturised on Sanjeev Kumar, Leena Chandawarkar, Naazima, Krishna Kant, Nirupa Roy etc.
Prakashchandra feels that Kishore Kumar sounds sublime when he sings a lovelorn song. Indeed I agree. And I also agree that Laxmikant Pyarelal got the besyt out of him, or may bre Kishore Kumar gave his best for Laxxmikant Pyarelal, while singing this genre of song. For example, consider Ajnabi tum jaane pahchaane se lagte ho(Hum sab ustaad hain) as well as Khizaan ke phool pe aati kabhi bahaar nahin(Do Raaste)(1970).

what a gr8 song. this time i am really surprised that u saw a version of this movie without this songs???

On your comment about Kishore K and his ‘triste’ songs, I so agree. There’s this song from ‘Bandhe Haath’ that I can’t seem to stop listening to! Don’t know if you’ve posted about it.
