When one thinks of the combination of Lata, Pt Narendranath Sharma and Sudhir Phadke, then what is the song that immediately comes to mind ? Jyoti kalash chhalke(Bhaabhi ki choodiyaan)(1961) ofcourse. But that is not the only song created by this team. They have created a few more.
It is noticeable that all these songs are a purist’s delight, whether one is a Hindi language purist or a classical music purist. And as can be guessed. most of these songs have ended up as forgotten songs, but that does not detract from the fact that these songs are gems.
Here is a forgotten gem from an obscure movie called “Ratnaghar” (1955). On listening to this song the first time, one may wonder what the fuss is all about. But one need to listen to this song a few times and then it will grow on the listener. It is that kind of a song.
This movie had Lalita Pawar, Raja Paranjpe, Shakuntala, Suryakant etc in it, and the movie obviously sank without a trace. Only the audio of this` song is available, so it is difficult to say how and on whom this song is picturised. That does not matter. Listening to the audio is all the experience one needs. and it is a divine experience.too.
