This is a song from “Phir Subah Hogi” (1958) about which I was not aware. I came to know about this song after I received the lyrics of this song from nahm.
Only the audio of this song is available as far as I can find out. It appears that this is a beggar/faqeer song where a beggar is seeking alms fro the passers by.
This song is sung by Rafi. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist and Khayyam is the music director.
With Sahir Ludhianvi as the lyricist, one expects some powerful messages and observations in this song, and one is not disappointed. The song contains hard hitting words like like
“waise to banaaya thha hamen bhi raam ne
jo bhaag hi bure hon to kisi se kya gilaa
(We too were created by God, but why should we complain if misfortune is our destiny)

There are numerous beggar/fakir songs in Hindi film world.This one carries some social message which comes from talented Sahirji.I have seen this film in those days but I do not remember scene therein.Anyway I am glad to revive this after decades.Thanks for upload.

Atul ji,
The fifth line from top and fourth from bottom is :
“o jaane waale letaa ja ghareeb ki duaa”
I missed the word while typing. Please correct it. I had found the name of one female singer “Chandbala” at some site. But there appear to be 2 female singers.
