I often discuss rare songs from obscure movies. while discussing these songs, I mention some details about the movie which I may have dug up with great difficulty.
And after sometime, I myself forget the details of the movie. when it is time for me to discuss another equally, or even more obscure song from the movie, I start wondering about the details of this movie.
Now I have realised that I need not reinvent the wheel. Instead I should just look at the writeup of the preuious song from the same movie. It is such an obvious solution, but like many obvious looking solution, I realised it only just now. I must be getting old and senile for sure. 😀
Long back, nearly one year back in fact, I had discussed a rare song from a movie called “Darbaar” (1955). In case of that song, at least aan audio link was available at YT. But the song under discussion is even more rare. It is not available at YT. So, what do I write about this song ? With my newly acquired wisdom, I read the writeup of the previous song of this movie. There I realised that this movie was a B grade movie and it starred Mahipal, Chitra, Tiwari, Kammo etc.
This song is a duet, which is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Madhubala Jhaweri. Asad Bhopali is the lyricist and music is composed by Hansraj Bahl.
In case readers wonder why I have not colour coded the song to show which singer sings which portion, I need not bother, because both singers sing the entire song together.
This song is not there on YT, and it could be a blessing in disguise. Had someone decided to upload it there, he would have used the picture of Madhubala the actor, and thus he would have helped perpetuate the myth that Madhubala Jhaweri is the same as Madhubala the actress. I have in fact seen several songs sung by Madhubala Jhaweri being uploaded with the picture of Madhubala the actress. Thankfully one cannot mistake the picture in the link here for either of the Madhubalas. 😀 It is the picture of Hansraj Bahl, and I think I should search for the pictures of Asad Bhopali and Madhubala Jhaweri too, for future use.
