I am very much aware of this movie called “Tu Nahin Aur Sahi” (1960). I have in fact discussed as many as three songs from this movie in the past.
But even I was not aware of this song under discussion. How could this song evade detection by me all these days ?
I have not come across a song as sweet and as melodious. I have heard it many a times while trying to get the lyrics right. The song cast a spell over me right from the first listening.
The song is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. Pradeep Kumar, lip syncing in Rafi’s voice, sings this song with Minu Mumtaz. I am told that he sings duets with not one or two, but three ladies in this movie. In real life, a normal man will be happy enough with just one lady willing to sing duet with him, and here Pradeep Kumar is wallowing in such luxury, singing duets with as many as three ladies.
It is not clear what happens when these three ladies find out that Pradeep Kumar was seeing all three of them. May be someone who has seen the movie can tell us.
Here is this absolutely song, a song that Memsaab would describe as a melt, melt sigh sigh song. 😀
