Though I already knew about the better known songs of “Sharaabi” (1964), I have become aware of a few more songs of the movie recently.

Here is a song which I was totally unaware of till today. I became aware of this song when I received the lyrics of this song from nahm.

It is a wonderful playful song. It is a teasing song with a difference. In the usual teasing songs, the boy teases the girl and the girl takes exception. But here, the girl totally agrees with the boy’s comments about her beauty, and she adds a few cooments blowing her own trumpet.

The lyrics idea by Rajinder Krishan are quite original. He in fact was quite adept in coming up with original ideas even for ru of the mill situations like this.

This superb playful song is sung by Rafi and Asha Bhonsle. It is picturised on Dev Anand and Madhubala. Music is composed by Madan Mahon.
