When one thinks of songs to post on the occasion of Asha Bhonsle’s birtday (8 september) one has a huge number of great songs to choose from. This blog already has over 600 songs sung by her, but it is a drop in the ocean considering the number of great songs that she has sung in her long career.
Here is an iconic kids song sung by Asha Bhonsle. In the past, I have discussed one iconic kids songs sung by Asha Bhonsle, namely Chanda mama door ke(Vachan). Like that song, this song too is a composition of Ravi. This song is from “Gharana” (1961), which is a movie full of iconic songs.
This song, which has to be one of the most memorable songs dedicated to “daadi maa” (paternal grandmother) is written by Shakeel Badayuni and it is sung by Asha Bhonsle and Kamal Barot. The song is picturised on Lalita Pawar (playing the daadi maa), Moppet Raaju, Master Randeep and Vijayalaxmi.
