Din khushiyon ke lut gaye o saajnaa

“Rajdhani” (1956) is a movie produced by N C Films. It was directed by Naresh Saigal. This movie had Sunil Dutt, Purnima, Naaz, Johnny Walker, Nimmi, Durga Khote, Tiwari etc in it. This movie has been by and large forgotten by now and most of the songs of this song have suffered the same fate.
Despite the songs of this movie being rare to find, we have discussed as many as four songs from this movie.
Here is a song which is even rarer. This song is sung by Lata. Though only the audio of this song is available, it is easy to guess (based on our knowledge of the other songs sung by Lata in this movie whose video are available) that this song is picturised on Nimmi.
There are some conflicting infrmation about the lyricist of this song. I have seen Qamar Jalalabadi being described as the lyricist in one site and Asad Bhopali in another site. For the time being, I will go with Asad Bhopali. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the lyricist of this song.
Hansraj Bahl is the music director of this song and the movie.
Song-Din khushiyon ke lut gaye o saajnaa (Rajdhani) (1956) Singer-Lata, Lyrics-Asad Bhopali, MD-Hansraj Bahl
Lyrics
Din khushiyon ke lut gaye o saajnaa
chhoot gaya tera saath re
aayi judaayi ki raat re
aayi judaayi ki raat re
din khushiyon ke lut gaye o saajnaa
chhoot gaya tera saath re
aayi judaayi ki raat re
aayi judaayi ki raat re
mere liye toone duniya lutaayi
duniya lutaayi
tujhko mila kyaa
dard e judaayi
dard e judaayi
baar baar ankhiyon mein
ghoome more saajnaa
pahle milan ki raat re
chhoot gaya tera saath re
aayi judaayi ki raat re
mere jahaan se tere jahaan tak
tere jahaan tak
oonchi deewaaren sainyaa
hain aasmaan tak
hain aasmaan tak
kaise bataaun unhen
kaise tere paas aaun
kaise kahoon main dil ki baat re
aayi judaayi ki raat re
din khushiyon ke lut gaye o saajnaa
chhoot gaya tera saath re
aayi judaayi ki raat re
aayi judaayi ki raat re
