“Taj” (1956) was a Dossi Films production. It was produced by Fali Mistry and directed by Nandlal Jaswantlal. The movie had Pradeep kumar,Vyjayanthimala, Bipin Gupta, Jeevan, Kammo, Shakunthala, Amar,Jajo, Kathana, Helen, Qamar, Roopmala, Ulhas etc in it.
I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from this movie.
This song is a poignant Deewali song . In this song Vyjyantimala laments the fact that while the world is celebrating Deewaali with enthusiasm, her heart is filled with sorrow and as a result she is in no position to feel joyous and happy.
Indeed one can empathise with this feeling. While most people celebrate festivals of light as they are meant to be celebrated, there are people who are not that fortunate for some reasons.
This song is sung by Lata. Rajinder Krishan is the lyricist. Music is composed by Hemant Kumar.
