Lyrics(Provided by Prakashchandra)
Sona na sitaaron ka hai kehna
khwaabon ke andhere mein na rehna
aayenge sajan tere ae dil
jaagte rehna
sona na sitaaron ka hai kehna
khwaabon ke andhere mein na rehna
aayenge sajan tere ae dil
jaagte rehna
thodi si bas aur hai rain judaai ki
thodi si bas aur hai rain judaai ki
jabhi to chandaniya takne lagi
kuchh muskaayee si
yoon hi tu halke halke
takte huye
khushi se har gham sehnaa
ho o
sona na sitaaron ka hai kehna
khwaabon ke andhere mein na rehna
aayenge sajan tere ae dil
jaagte rehna
main to unki door se aahat sunti hoon
main to unki door se aahat sunti hoon
Jab to mehkti lat mein khile
kaliyaan chunti hoon
jab to chamcham chamcham chalti hoon main
milan ko pehan gehnaa
ho o
sona na sitaaron ka hai kehna
khwaabon ke andhere mein na rehna
aayenge sajan tere ai dil
jaagte rehna
hoga kab tak saamna
poochh na ye humse
hoga kab tak saamna
poochh na ye humse
ban jaaye chilman gehree ghata
chaahe bijli chamke
kisiki khilti milti chitwan ke
khayaalon mein magan rehna
ho o
sona na sitaaron ka hai kehna
khwaabon ke andhere mein na rehna
aayenge sajan tere ae dil
jaagte rehna
sona na sitaaron ka hai kehna
khwaabon ke andhere mein na rehna
aayenge sajan tere ae dil
jaagte rehna

How did I not notice that this song had been missing all these days? This is a wonderful song, and I remember it from those days for its lilting melody, which makes one want to dance to its tune. I even have it on one of my CDs, and so I listen to it quite often when I am driving, so I am really surprised that I hadn’t noticed its absence here. Anyway, thanks for the wonderful song, Atul, and thanks to Prakashchandraji for sending you the lyrics.
Incidentally, what kind of a dress is that? It looks like a cross between the Spanish flamenco dancer’s dress and the one used for Manipuri dances.
