Pawan jhakoraa sang mere gaaye

Posted on: October 27, 2011

“Meri Bhabhi” (1969) is a movie produced by A G Films. It was directed by Khalid Akhtar. the movie had Sunil Dutt, Waheeda Rehmaan, Kamini Kaushal, Abhi Bhattacharya, Mehmood, Aruna Irani, Lalita Pawaar,Kanhaiyya laal, Raj Mehra, Tiwari, Mukri, Sundar,Lalita kumar, Baby Sabihaa etc in it.

The movie failed at the box office because the audience no longer had the patience to watch movies depicting characters making sacrifices for no apparent reasons.

The movie had some nice songs in it which were duly forgotten with time.

Here is a song from this movie. It is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Waheeda Rehman. Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist and Laxmikant Pyarelal composed the music.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Prakashchandra. Prakashchandra enjoys every stanza of the song and is concerned whenever parts of the song are deleted. According to him, the picturised version of the song had one full stanza missing.

I have only been able to locate the picturised version of the song. I will locate the audio version of the song too and then provide the link . In the meanwhile, enjoy this picturised version of this nice song.

dharti pe nahin main

pawan jhakora
aaa aaa aaa

dheere se pukaare, jaise koyee

baahon mein utaare, jaise koyee
matwaala koi haule haule

ude man bhanwra
gagan mein jaaye
ke gungun gun gun gungun hawa chale
pawan jhakora

I *heart* you Atul 😀

I forgot to add that words like “Behan”, “Bhabhi” in the title are statutory warnings that the movie has sacrificing characters in it.
