Posted on: November 28, 2011

“Namaste Jee” (1965) is a D M Movies production. It was directed by Daljit Krishnan. Star cast of the movie included names like Mehmood, Ameeta,Helen, Ajit, I. S. Johar, Nalini Chonker, Ullhas, Manorama etc. in it.

Here is a song from this movie. The song is sung by Rafi. Anand Bakshi is the lyricist. Music is composed by G S Kohli.

Only the audio of this song is available, but this song in all likelihood was picturised on Mehmood. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the movie and on the picturisation of this song.

Lyrics of this song were sent to me by nahm.

Song-Apne aanchal ki zaraa mujhko hawaa dete chalo (Namaste Jee) (1965) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Anand Bakshi, MD-G S Kohli

Lyrics(Provided by nahm)

Aaaa
aaa aaa aaa
ibtedaa-e-ishq hai
rotaa hai kya
arrey aagey aagey dekhiye
hotaa hai kya

arrey
apne aanchal
apne aanchal ki zara
mujh ko hawaa detey chalo
apne aanchal ki zara
mujh ko hawaa detey chalo
dard jo tum ne diya
us ki dawaa dete chalo
apne aanchal ki zara
mujh ko hawaa detey chalo

meri shaamat aayi thhi
kahaan phans gayaa
meri shaamat aayi thhi
jo aap ka mehmaan huaa
meri shaamat aayi thhi
jo aap ka mehmaan huaa
meraa hi samaan meri
maut ka samaan huaa
ho o o o
arrey ho gayi
ho gayi mujh se khataa
ab tum sazaa detey chalo
ho gayi mujh se khataa
ab tum sazaa detey chalo
dard jo tum ne diya
us ki dawaa dete chalo
apne aanchal
haay haay
apne aanchal ki zara
mujh ko hawaa detey chalo

poochhta hai
arrey bahi kya poochhta hai
poochhta hai tum se
har ek chhaal mere paaon ka
poochhta hai tum se
har ek chhaal mere paaon ka
yeh jahannum ka hai rastaa
ya tumhaare gaaon ka
ho o o
o o o
chal basoon
chal basoon na chalte chalte
ye duaa detey chalo
chal basson na chalte chalte
ye duaa detey chalo
dard jo tum ne diya
us ki dawaa dete chalo
apne aanchal
aha ahaa
ooh ah
apne aanchal ki zara
mujh ko hawaa detey chalo

Atul ji,
NAMASTE JI-1965,a DM (daljit and Malik) Movies’ film,it was directed by a duo of Daljit-Krishna Malik(who also produced this movie. They were also in Lambe Haath-1960 as a producer/director jodi).
The story was by kabil Amritsari,s/p by Aziz Kaisi and Dialogues by Sarashar Sailani.Music by GSKohli and Lyrics by Anjaan and Anand Bakshi.
The story was the usual ‘mistaken identity’ theme trying for comedy of errors situations.Anand Kumar,s/o wealthy Daulat Ram-England Returned is engaged to Usha,d/o col.Bhola Nath of Dehradun.Ajit kumar,an unemployed youth goes to Dehradun to meet Shobha,d/o a poor widow for Music Tuition. They both are in the same train. On arrival at Dehradun, they are received by wrong parties.
Thus Anand kumar goes with Shobha, and Ajit kumar goes with Usha. This confusion happens as their bags are painted only A.Kumar.
Now,both families are bored as Anand does not know Music, but Shobha talks of only music, whereas Ajit talks only about Music and Usha is bored.
Ajit falls in Usha’s love and Anand in Shobha’s.
Daulat Ram brings Anand’s barat to Usha’s house, but they refuse to marry each other as their love intersts are different.
The rest of the story tells us how the confusion is sorted out and how the lovebirds finally get their own nests.
The above song is sung by Mehmood(Ajit) addressing Usha(Ameeta).
