Kabhi ae haqeeqat e muntazar

Posted on: November 28, 2011

This song is a poem which is written by Md Iqbal, also known as Allama Iqbal. This song has many versions, which have been sung by many artists. “Dulhan Ke Raat Ki” (1966) utilises this poem as a qawwali/ mujra song, which may not be what this poem is intended to be.

The song is sung by Lata and it is performed by a lady in a haweli in front of all male audience. I am unable to identify the performer and I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify her.

The audio version of this song is longer that the video version. I have included links to both versions of this song here.

Madan Mohan is the music director.

Lyrics as well as translations have been provided by nahm.

Wow !!!!!!

What a song,I miss MADAN MOHANJI very very much!!!
Great song lost in the timeflow and in a mediocre movie.
Should have been picturised more imaginatively.

Yes that is padma khanna and sujathaa, I am sure now.

Thanks atulji and nahmji
The tune reminds me Laxmikant pyarelal-mumtaz-lata combination qawwali from MERE HUMDUM MERE DOST:
“Allaa…ye adaa, kaisi hai in haseenon ki , roote pal mein na maane mahinon mein”

Atul ji,

Thanks for posting this song. The meaning of words/terms is just the are just that and not complete translation. It would be better if you would term them as meaning of words/terms.

In the final shair which is there only in the audio, the word is “ba-sajda” :

main jo sar ‘ba-sajda’ kabhi huaa
to zameen se aane lagi sadaa
