Zindagi was made in 1964 with star casts as Rajendra Kumar, VMala, Raj Kumar, Prithvi Raj Kapoor, Mehmood, Jeevan, Jayant, Leela Chitnis, Dhumal, Kanhaiyalal, Hiralal & Helen. The movie was produced by SS Vasan, Gemini Pictures and was directed by Ramanand Sagar.
The music is by 1950s & 1960s most popular duo Shankar Jaikishan. This song is penned by Shailendra.
Watching the video of this song feels like a broken hearted, feeling betrayed by his love & confushed, Rajendra Kumar is complaining to the almighty about sorrow, misery in his life. Nobody else could have justified this song than Mohd. Rafi.

Song-Hamne jafaa na seekhi (Zindagi)(1964) Singer-Rafi, Lyrics-Shailendra, MD-Shankar Jaikishan
Lyrics(Provided by Khyati Bhatt)
hamne jafaa na seekhi
unko wafa na aayee
hamne jafaa na seekhi
unko wafa na aayee
patthhar se dil lagaeya
aur dil pe chot khaayee
hamne jafa na seekhi
apne hi dil ke haathon
barbaad ho gaye hum
apne hi dil ke haathon
barbaad ho gaye hum
barbaad ho gaye hum
kis se karen shikaayat
ab kis ki de duhaayee
patthar se dil lagaya
aur dil pe chot khayee
hamne jafa na seekhi
duniya banaanewale
main tujh se poochta hoon
duniya banaanewale
main tujh se poochta hoon
main tujh se poochta hoon
kya pyaar ka jahaan mein
badla hai bewafaayee
patthhar se dil lagaaya
aur dil pe chhot khayee
hamne jafa na seekhi
unko wafa na aayi
hamne jafa na seekhi

Despite placid face , subdued voice , and mediocre acting , Rajendra Kumar achieved rare feat of becoming Jubilee Kumar ! as his most of the films became Silver or Golden Jubillee hits .This may be due to good story lines of the films under good director or ably supported by good songs sung by Rafi Sahib like this one or by Mukeshji ( Pyaar Ka Saagar ) .

I think another good song ‘ pehle mile the sapnon mein ‘ sung by Rafi Sahib of this movie remains to be discussed
