“Rangoli” (1962) was an RSB Films presentation. It was directed by Amar Kumar. Starcast of the movie had Kishore Kumar, Vyjyantimala, N. Hussain, Jeevan, Ulhas, Sulochana, Khurshid, Durga Khote, Iftekhar, Dhumal etc in it.
As many as five songs from this movie have already been discussed in the blog. Here is another song from the movie. This song is sung by Lata and it is picturised on Vyjyanti Mala. Shailendra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

Atul ji,
RUNGOLI-1962 was a film which became a hit,not because of its actors,plot or anything else,but only because its music was so good that all other faults of the film were forgotten.Inthe late 50s the jodi of Kishore and Vyjayantimala had become very popular,so it was once again repeated here.
sevak ram(Nazir Hussain)was a Bank Manager in Bombay and had planned his achievements on the pattern of Govt.Of India’s 5 yr.plans.
he had planned a house,son’s education,daughter’s marriage,retirement and translation of Bhagwat geeta into english.he,his wife Shubhangi(D.Khote),son Lattu(Jagdeo) and daughter Nirmala(V.Mala) were a happy family.
He had started his house building and depended upon elder brother,Sadhu Ram(Jeevan) who was a partner of Dass(Dhumal) in the construction field.
Nirmala was in love with Kishore(Kishore kumar)s/o a dy.collector(Ulhas).kishore has a business of supply of Sand and cement.Lattu is in love with Rani(Sadhana-not the famous one).when the house is partly built,Sevak goes to see it.due to poor material,balcony falls down and Sevak is seriously injured.
Once the father is in hospital both Son and Daughter become determined to fulfil father’s dreams.kishore also helps them.Sadhu and Dass accuse kishore of supplying poor material and put him behind bar.nirmala breaks engagement and is ready to marry some body else.but Lattu,and Rani convine Nirmala and they are ready to fight.
rest of the film shows,how the yougsters can perform when responsibility comes on their shoulders.they not only get Kishore released,but also put the real culprits Sadhu and Dass behind bars.
The end,as expected is good and all is well that ends well.
Nirmala and Kishore,Lattu and Rani as well as Sevakram are happy to get what they wanted and the audience is happy to get good music !
