“Dulaari” (1949) was a Kardar Production movie. It was produced and directed by A R Kardar. The starcast of the movie had names like Suresh, Geeta Bali, Madhubala, Jayant, Shyam Kumar, Amar, Nawab, Pratima Devi etc in it.
This movie was a musical blockbuster. As many as seven songs from this movie have alraedy been discussed in the blog. Here is another song from the movie.

Among the star cast is one ‘Shyam Kumar’. He was a massive barrel chested man who made his mark as a villain. He’s the dacoit who beats up a tied up Shammi Kapoor in ‘Prince’.
What many people don’t know is that he was a fantastic singer with an amazing voice! Believe it or not, he gave the playback for ‘Tu mera chand main teri chandini..’ along with Suraiya in ‘Dillagi’!!

Thanks for info on singer Shyam.
I am sure that readers of this Blog are aware that there were 2 shyams,one was only an actor and the other was actor/singer who always sang for others and never for himself.
Please refer to comments on the song ‘bekhabar jaag zaraa’ from film Pehle Aap,posted on 17-9-2011,where in, a detailed information about both Shyams is given.
