“Naya Raasta” (1970) was produced by I A Nadiadwala and directed by Khalid Akhtar. Starcast of the movie included Asha Parekh, Jeetendra, Jayshree T., Lalita Pawar, Balraj Sahni, Sujit Kumar, Veena, Farida Jalal, Roopesh Kumar etc.
The movie as well as its songs have been forgotten with time. But the songs of this movie are awesome. The inspirational song Ponch kar ashq apni aankhon se is from this movie as is the introspective song Apne andar zara jhaank mere watan.
As many as five songs from the movie has been discussed in the song. But the most well known song from the movie is still missing from the list. This song is so popular that everyone is aware of it, even though most people may not be aware of the details. Many people may not even be aware that it is a movie song.
Here is this awesome bhajan from “Naya Raasta” (1970). This song, which is sung by Rafi and chorus is bound to bring solace and comfort to listeners.

apart from bringing solace and comfort this song also speaks of to lift oneself above caste, creed,religion, and do good … it emphasizes ‘karm’ and seek peace for all !!!
