“Apsara”(1961) is an obscure movie. Here are the details of this movie that our in house movie encyclopaedia Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh had given in the past :-
APSARA was a costume drama.A Chitralaya production it was directed by V.M.Vyas(brother of B.M.Vyas-who acted in the film).The cast was,Pradeep Kumar,Nirupa Roy,Leela Mishra,B.M.Vyas,Anwar Hussain,Daljit,Maruti etc. Lyrics were given by Hasrat/Qamar Jalalabadi/G.S.Nepali.
It was a story of a Prince(Pradeep) who is lured by an Apsara and taken to Heaven. His wife(Nirupa Roy) and Mother(Leela mishra)suffer and crave for him to come back. The movie was full of Dance,Drama,Magic,Glamour and comedy.By the end of the movie wife wins.
I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from the movie. This song is a duet sung by Asha Bhonsle and Talat Mehmood. This song is a rare song even by the standards of this movie songs.
I am not sure about the lyricist of this song but I have provisionally assumed Qamar Jalalabadi to be the lyricist. I request our knowledgeable readers to tell us about the lyricist of this song.
Husnlal Bhagatram composed the music.
It is a forgotten gem, which I heard for the first time only just now.

There were 3 lyricists in the film.Hasrat jaipuri,G.S.Nepali and Q.Jalalabadi.
