“Ziddi” (1964), not to be confused with “Ziddi”(1948) was produced and directed by Pramod Chakravarty. Starcast of the movie included Joy Mukherji, Asha Parekh, Dhumal, Shobha Khote, Raj Mehra, Sulochana, Ullhas, Madan Puri, Nazima, Majnu, Mehmood etc.
From the starcast, it is obvious that this movie was a Shammi Kapoor kind of movie. And indeed the story line as well as the movie looks and sounds so much like a Shammi Kapoor movie.
Here is a lovely song from this movie. The song is a teasing song which is sung by Rafi and picturised on Joy Mukherji and Asha Parekh. The lovely song is so lively and racy. The music sounds so typically Shankar Jaikishan, except that Shankar Jaikishan were not the music directors in this movie ! S D Burman was the music director and he in this song emulates Shankar Jaikishan’s style wonderfully well.
Hasrat Jaipuri is the lyricist.

one thing i loved abt this movie when i saws it years ago (on tv) was Asha Parekh. she was looking very pretty and lively. and we had a competition between Joy Mukherjee & Asha Parekh in rolling their eyes 🙂

I agree with you.
But wherever possible/available and depending upon the merit of the song, we should strive to incorporate them. At least Shyam Sagar, Kamal/Madhukar Rajasthani, to name a few, have contributed greatly especially in NFS field. The Madhukar Rajasthani and Shyam Sagar duo have dished out wonderful music and made superb use of Md Rafi. I have already emailed 15 songs of above the trio to Atulji with full lyrics. Hope he is able to squeeze in few every week.

few months back,in some connection,I had also given a list of lesser known MDs,whose songs were yet to feature on this blog.
An important thing is,many of the MDs you have mentioned are one or two film wonders,whose films never became famous and the songs are not heard of.Many older MDs did not cut their song records and many’s films are no more available,hence to trace the songs is very difficult.
further,there were approx. about 3000 MDs so far in Hindi films,out of which,may be songs(audio/VDO) of about 500 may be available,in my opinion.
As of now,there are still thousands of songs of knowm MDs which yet to be posted.Let us enjoy them.
I do not think the idea here is to feature every MD,but the stress is on good music to which we can relate and enjoy.
