Thhoda sa aitbaar keejiye
Posted on: April 6, 2012
“Chowkidaar” (1974) did not create any impression at the box office when it was released. And it meant that yet another movie with Madan Mohan’s compositions flopped and the songs of this movie remained unheard and unwatched by moviegoers.
Here is a songs from this movie which I had heard those days, but without knowing any details of the song. I was not awrae that the song was from “Chowkidaar”(1974) and I was not aware of how this song was picturised.
Thanks to the lyrics and other details of this song sent to me by Prakashchandra, now I know that the song is picturised as a mujra song on Jayshree T, Vinod Khanna and Ram Mohan. Asha Bhonsle is the singer and Rajinder Krishan wrote the lyrics.
Now that I have heard this song again, and this time with better appreciation, I realise what a gem of a composition it is. I have been listening to this song for the last two days and I cannot have enough of this song. It is a pity that great compositions of Madan Mohan kept getting wasted in movies that flopped and all these flop movies finally took their toll on Madan Mohan soon thereafter. If only Madan Mohan could have lived a few months longer, because his fortune was soon going to turn with “Mausam” (1975) and “Laila Majnu” (1976), but alas, no astrologer went up to him and predicted that his subsequent movies were going to be big hits.
Here is this superb song from “Chowkidaar”(1974). If you want more after watching video, then listen to the audio which is full two minutes longer with one extra stanza.

pyaar ki aarzoo hai
pyaar ki justjoo hai
pyaar ki aarzoo hai
pyaar ki justjoo hai
to pehle apne dil ko
beqaraar keejiye
apne dil ko beqaraar keejiye
haaan aaa
thodaa sa aitbaar keejiye
pyaar ko ek tadap kahiye
ke raahat kahiye
ae
ae ae ae
pyaar ko ek tadap kahiye
ke raahat kahiye
ek haqeeqat yaa fasaanaa
yaa kahaavat kahiye
dard woh dard ke
haan haaan aaa
dard woh dard ke
duniyaa mein na ho jiss kaa ilaaj
aur ho jaaye haseenon ke
inaayat kahiye
aazmaanaa ho to
aazmaanaa ho
aazmaanaa ho to
ek baar keejiye
phir zaraa saa intezaar keejiye
phir zaraa saa intezaar keejiye
thodaa saa aitbaar keejiye
haan aaaaaa
thodaa saa aitbaar keejiye
jaane kab ishq mein kyaa ho jaayein
bandaa bande ka khudaa ho jaaye
aankh bhi yaar ke
ae ae ae
aankh bhi yaar ke
dar par reh jaaye
dil bhi pehloo se judaa ho jaaye
dil bhi pehloo se judaa ho jaaye
dil bhi pehloo se judaa ho jaaye
jo shaque ho to
jo shaque ho to
jo shaque ho to
phir pyaar keejiye
phir zaraa saa intezaar keejiye
phir zaraa saa intezaar keejiye
thodaa saa aitbaar keejiye
haan aaaaaaaaa
thodaa saa aitbaar keejiye
dil pe qaaboo na ho to
gair ke ghar jaao sanam
ho o ooo sanam
jaao jaao sanam
dil pe qaaboo na ho to
gair ke ghar jaao sanam
ek hi raat ke vaade se
na behlaao sanam
aankh se chhoo lo
haan
haaan
aaan
aankh se chhoo lo magar
haath se na chhoo na badan
khud tadapo zaraa hamko bhi
tadpaao sanam
hamko bhi beqaraar keejiye
hamko bhi
hamko bhi
hamko bhi beqaraar keejiye
phir zaraa saa intezaar keejiye
phir zaraa saa intezaar keejiye
thodaa saa aitbaar keejiye
haan aaaaa
thodaa saa aitbaar keejiye
phir zaraa saa intezaar keejiye
phir zaraa saa intezaar keejiye
thodaa saa aitbaar keejiye
thodaa saa aitbaar keejiy

Peevesie`s Mom ji
There is another Asha Bhosle dance song, which Atulji posted yesterday from the same movie “Chowkidaar”,(“Aji rehne do, chanda badli mein”).
If you haven`t heard, Please listen to that song, for Madan Mohanji`s sake .

Dear Atul, FYI, the score for “Aandhi” (1975) was by R D Burman and not Madan Mohan.

Try setting the video and audio few seconds apart and you will get a sort of stereophonic effect. You will see Asha following Asha similar to effect obtained by RD in Baharo Ke Sapna in Lata number
