“Ek Phool Chaar Kaante” (1960) was a Prabhat Films Production. It was directed by Bhappi Sonie. The movie had Sunil Dutt, Waheeda Rehman, Helen, Dhumal, Kanhaiyalal, Johnny Walker, David Abraham etc in it.
I have discussed as many as four songs from this movie in the past. Here is another song from the movie. It is sung by Mukesh.
The picturisation shows Sunil Dutt watching Waheeda Rehman and her sahelis going out on a drive themselves and their car developing a flar tire. Now changing the tyre is not something the ladies are good at. The song advises the lady, rather partonisingly, I think, to be careful when walking into male bastion. Changing tyres, or for than matter driving, is a male bastion, that is the message, it would seem to me. Why do you feel the need to compete with menm, we have already accepted your supiriority, the song informs the lady.
The song is obviuosly meant to amuse men at the expense of the ladies. Considering that this song is more than half a century old, holding such a view was considered alright. In fact, those were the days when felling trees, hunting tigers etc were considered desirable activities.
The song is written by Shailendra. Music is composed by Shankar Jaikishan.

This could be another interesting tag :Changing Tyre. I remember another song in a similar situation from PYAR KIYE JAA featuring Kalpana and Shashi Kapoor.

Saw this song after 10 years again. Realized that a very pretty young Bindu is part of the Girl Gang. Her eyes are so distinct. Bela bose being the Gang-leader

i think this movie was an inspiration for the Salman Khan- Karisma Kapoor starrer “Dulhan Hum Le Jayenge”
