“Paraaye Bas Mein”(1946) is as obscure a movie as any. Hardly any information is available about this movie now.
The songs of this movie are equally rare and obscure.
Here is a song from this movie. This song is sung by Zeenat Begam. Music is composed by Vinod.
This movie had two lyricists, viz Aziz Kashmiri and Tufail Hoshiarpuri. It is not clear which of the two lyricists wrote this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on this movie including the lyricist as well as the picturisation of this song.
PS-Mr Arunkumar Deshmukh, our in house encyclopaedia informs us that Aziz Kashmiri was the lyricist and that Vinod had composed just two songs of this movie, including the one under discussion.
Deciphering the lyrics of this song with headphones on was a satisfying experience for me because I feel that I have managed to decipher most of the lyrics of this song, though a few minor errors could still be there in the lyrics that I have noted down.
So here is this rare gem from a rare movie for the listening pleasure of music lovers.

Atul ji,
PARAAYE BAS MEIN-1946 had 2 composers.Out of the total 7 songs 5 were composed by Niyaz hussain Shami and only 2 were composed by Vinod.
The above song,however,is composed by Vinod and the lyricist is Aziz Kashmiri.
Aziz Kashmiri was a lyricist in many Vinod films.He had also written the iconic “Lara lappa’ from Ek thi ladki.

Arun ji,
There is one more song ‘mere dil par lagegi chot’ from the film which has been accredited to Vinod by the uploader Kelly Mistry. I would have ignore this accredition. But the uploader of the audio clip is none other than the son-in-law of Vinod (Veera’s husband). I have been observing that Kelly Mistry has been uploading a large number of songs composed by Vinod during the last 3 years. Probably his source may be the 78 RPM records/ cassettes left by his father-in-law, the late Vinod.
