“Mangu” (1954) was produced by Sheikh Mukhtaar and directed by M A Ansari. The movie had Sheikh Mukhtar, Nigar Sultana, Aroon, Mukri, Ansari, Sheila Ramani etc in it.
The movie originally had Md Shafi as the music director but later on O P Nayyar became the music director of this movie. I have discussed three songs from this movie so far and two of them have been O P Nayyar compositions.
Here is another song from “Mangu” (1954). This song is a duet which is sung by Shamshad Begam and Talat Mehmood. S H Bihari is the lyricist and music is composed by O P Nayyar.
Only the audio of this song is available and so it is difficult to guess how and on whom this song is picturised. It is a harmonium song as can be guessed from the predominance of this musical instrument in the song, and from that I guess that the song was a roadside tamasha genre of song which was most likely picturised on a couple of small time actors. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw more light on the matter.
I haerd this song for the first time only just now and I loved listening to this song which soundsdifferent from the usual O P Nayyar compositions.
