“Hu Tu Tu” (1999) was a Time Films Production. It was produced and directed by Gulzar. Gulzar had written the story and screenplay too. And he was naturally the lyricist in this movie too.
On the occasion of Gulzar’s birthday today (18 august), here is a song from “Hu Tu Tu” (1999). The song is sung by Hariharan and Lata and it is picturised on Suneil Shetty and Tabu who are driving by a car.
Vishal Bhardwaj is the music director.
As is usual with Gulzar lyrics, this song too likens abstract concepts with concrete items, viz life is likened to puff of cigarette, irritation in the eye is assumed to be because of a dream smouldering there, nights are likened to clothes materials, and so some nights are naturally silky and soft. Yes, that is the kind of lyrics that we come across in this song. 🙂
