There are already two songs from Chhalia (1973) here. Therefore, I am glad to add another one to make it a trio. The music director is R D Burman. As with many of his good scores, this one is also for a film, which flopped badly and sank without a trace, till the Pancham renaissance in the last few years resurrected its songs.
This song is sung by two singers, who are not normally the usual Pancham singers. RDB hardly used Mukesh, except when he had to compose songs, which would be lip-synced by Raj Kapoor. He of course used his talents for some exceptional songs like in Kati Patang and Mukti as well. Vani Jairam, a famous playback-singer in the south, became more famous for her Meera bhajans in the film by Gulzar on Meera.
The song is very simple and doesn’t really catch one’s eye, oops ears I mean! But there is something about it, which pleases one’s ears. Hope you enjoy it as much as I enjoyed it!

She became famous with film Guddi: She was discovered by veteran Vasant Desai for Guddi. Meera happened much later. There is isn’t a perfect singer than her.

Aah, this song is finally posted. This song, if I remember right, was confused to be part of the Raj Kapoor, Nutan starrer, Chhalia (1960) :).
