“Ham Ek Hain” (1946) was a Prabhat Film Company Limited Production. It was directed by P L Santoshi. This movie was the debut movie of Dev Anand, Rehman, Rane, Rehana and Kamla Kotnis. The movie also had Durga Khote, Ram Singh etc in it.
As many as six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is a lesser known song from this movie. This song is so less known that even the singers of this song are not known. The song is picturised on kids playing the young kids (real as well as adopted) namely Shankar, Yusuf, John and Durga who would grow up to become Dev Anand, Rehman, Rane and Kamla Kotnis respectively. In the picturisation, The kids are flying a kite having pooled their resources, obtained on the sly, to buy the kite and its associated paraphernalia.
The song is sung by P L Santoshi. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagatram. I am neither able to identify the young kids not the voices who sing this song. I request our knowledgeable readers to help identify the actors as well as the singers of this song.
This is is quite a fast paced song indeed and it is a song that was far ahead of its time as far as its singing style was concerned.
