“Bebus” (1951) was a Chitravani Productions movie. It was directed by Bhagwan Hajela. The movie had Bharat Bhushan, Chandrashekhar, Purnima etc in it.. The Director was Bhagwan Hajela and the Music was scored by S. K Pal and Ganpat Rao.
It is one of those rare movies that have hardly any information available in it on internet though several sites claim to contain all the information about it including video clips, reviews, story, stills, trailers, songs, wallpapers, synopsis, user comments, news, cast, crew, latest gossips about it. 🙂
Here is a song from “Bebas” (1950). It is sung by Mukesh. Jalal Malihabadi is the lyricist. Music is composed by S K PalGanpat Rao.
This movie incidentally had two lyricists and two music directors in it. Salik Lucknowi was the other lyricist and Ganpat rao was the other music director.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Mahesh, a new contributor to this blog and he regards this song as the one that made him a Mukesh fan.

Atul ji,
The film had 2 MDs. Pt.Ganpat Rao and S K Pal. MD S K Pal had composed ONLY ONE song in this film,i.e.- main tum se muhabbat karta hoon-Mukesh.
All the other songs were composed by (including the posted song above) Ganpat Rao.

Thanks for entertaining and including in this unique band. I also thank all for welcoming me. Regarding the MD for this particular song, I vividly recollect Radio Ceylon attributing it to SK Pal, even as early as 26-08-2012, when they had a special programme for Mukesh’s death anniversary. This particular programme audio can be easily found on utube. “Tribute to Mukesh – Radio Ceylon 27-08-2012 (Morning) – Part-1”.
Yes, I will continue to post more rare songs and anecdotes of Mukesh-The man with the golden voice. Thanks once again to one and all.
