“Anmol Ratan” (1950) was a Dewan Productions movie. It was directed by M Sadiq. The movie had Karan Dewan, Meena Kumari, Gope, Gulab, Nirmala, Madan Puri etc in it.

You are verymuch right ….claronet is such a instrument ..in old films it was used very much..and we alwyas liked it.This song has its charm of VINOD,really a great music director at age of 25 ..is very very rare.He was GENIOUSE. Very sad that he died at young age.But music lover will remember him for decades.Typical punjabi style tune and words …ANMOL RATAN has all hit songs.Jab kisi ke rukh pe zulfein aake lahraane lagi..Talat.is more touching song by all means.By the way TALAT SAAB himself told me that he recorded his first song in BOMBAY with VINOD for ANMOL RATAN.

Vintage Vinod. Recording is so clear for an old film. Music directors in those years never had the luxury of having a large orchestra. Put in another way, would songs like this one would have sounded better with a large orchestra?

There,s always some confusion whether the heroine was Meena Shory or Meena Kumari. I think it was Shorey
