Mere chhail chhabeele

“Neki Aur Badi” (1949) was an Oriental Pictures presentation. It was directed by Kidar Sharma. The movie had Geeta Bali, Pesi Patel, Nazira, Madhubala, Kidar Sharma, Uma Dutt etc in it.
The movie had flopped and as a result, the songs of this movie had failed to become popular and Roshan, the debutant music director of the movie became badly disheartened as a result. Fortunately that failure turned out to be the stepping stone for many successes for him in his subsequent movies.
I am discovering that “Neki Aur Badi” (1949) have some lovely songs in it that sound sweet and fresh even today.
Here is a delightful song from “Neki Aur Badi” (1949). It is sung by Amirbai Karnataki. Kidar Sharma is the lyricist. Music is composed by Roshan, of course.
Only the audio of this song is available. I request our knowledgeable readers to tell us how and on whom this song was picturised
Song-Mere chhail chhabeele (Neki Aur Badi)(1949) Singer-Amirbai Karnataki, Lyrics-Kidar Sharma, MD-Roshan
Lyrics
mere chhail chhabeele
ho mere chhail chhabeele
tere nain raseele
ho tere nain raseele ae ae
hans hans kuchh batla bhi gaye
kuchh aaj baat chhupa bhi gaye
ho tere nain raseele
mere chhail chhabeele
ho mere chhail chhabeele
ho mere chhail chhabeele
kyaa sharmaaye te
kyaa muskaaye hai
kyaa muskaaye hai ye
kyaa muskaaye hai
kyaa sharmaaye te
kyaa muskaaye hai
kyaa muskaaye hai ye
kyaa muskaaye hai
kyaa nirmohi teer
chalaaye hai ye teer
chalaaye hai ye teer
chalaaye hai
sagri sudh bisra bhi gaye
kuchh soya dard jaga bhi gaye
ho tere nain raseele
mere chhail chhabeele
ho mere chhail chhabeele
ho mere chhail chhabeele
dorey daal
haath na aaye hai
haath na aaye hai ye
haath na aaye hai
dorey daal
haath na aaye hai
haath na aaye hai ye
haath na aaye hai
chhalak chhhalak kar madhu
barsaaye hai ye madhu
barsaaye hai ye madhu
barsaaye hai ae ae
man ka kanwal
man ka kanwal
khila bhi gaye
aankhon mein aansoo laa bhi gaye
ho tere nain raseele
mere chhail chhabeele
ho mere chhail chhabeele
ho mere chhail chhabeele
