“Himalay Se Ooncha” (1975) was produced by Babboo Mehta and directed by B S Thapa. The movie had Sunil Dutt and Mallika Sarabhai in lead roles. Ranjeet, Rakesh Pandey, Achala Sachdev etc were in it as well.
The most well known song from this movie was its title song with its inspirational lyrics. This song was sung by Lata and it was picturised as a background song.
Here is the title song of the movie. It is written by Indeewar. Music is composed by Kalyanji Anandji.
Three years later, the same music ditrector and singer created a song on the river Ganga viz. Maano to main Ganga maan hoon na maano to behta paani” (Ganga Ki Saugandh). For some reason, the two songs remind me of each other as if these songs were cut from the same musical cloth.

@ Prakash ji – thanks !!! hamare khayalat kitne milte julte hain , hamari pasand bhi kitni milti julti hain !! (main sach keh raha hoon, not trying ‘Shashi’ of ‘Trishul’).
I do not mind your comments, but whenever such thing happens, I do feel sad !!(and I am sure all of us would feel same for others).
– However, at my end, I have already undertaken the CA/PA. and Me and Harvey ji hv also taken up the CA/PA. Kindly share your e’mail id please. or drop a mail at my id @ avi_abhang@yahoo.co.in !! I hv an updated MIS ready for the songs shared by me, which I can immediately mail to you.
– My first and foremost objective to join this blog were some special songs from the ‘Seventies’ which are part of my ‘Yaadon Ki Baraat’ (raahi o raahi is one of them, and songs from ‘yaadon ki baarat’ also),
so initially I started with sharing these songs, and many are still to be shared, but, after I came to know about other contributors ‘type’ of songs they shared, I understand that most of the songs I shared would be at the ‘common post zone’ now. So till they all get posted the suspense, anxiety, thrill continues and once they are posted IT IS ONLY JOY all over (and now it will a ‘happily lost- but won’ all over ).
– Now, on the second thought I am sure that the songs which are in my wish-list are assured to come soon or later and/or must have been contributed by other team members , so anticipating this I hv reduced / and more or less stopped working on that now. and henceforth I will concentrate on less popular songs or different subjects.
– (As Harvey ji has suggested earlier, It would be more enjoying if all our regular contributors shared their email id so that we can exchange our labor of love).
So the journey continues, please drop me a mail (we can find some solution jointly) , yaad hain na – abhi to ‘lost & found’ film ke bahot se gaane baaki hain…. !! thanks ..
