Here is a Rafi-Lata duet from the film Phandebaaz (1978). The music director is R. D. Burman and lyricist is Anand Bakshi. The film was a comedy, which I have seen on T.V. long back. Only thing i could remember is the song ‘Abhi barah nahin baje hain’. The film stars Dharmendra and Moushmi Chatterjee as hero and heroine along with Prem chopra, Helen, Bindu, Ranjeet as the gang of villians. One song of the film is posted in the blog Abhi gyaarah nahin baje hain . This should be the second song.
The song is a known one from radio days. Like many songs of the 70’s this was also buried in the memory somewhere. I have seen the video of the song for the first time, picturized on Dharmendra and Moushmi Chatterjee. A chanced upon link on youtube is to be blamed it this happens to be one of the songs, lyrics of which are already sent by one or more of the regular contributors :-). I am at present concentrating on late 70’s Rafi songs. Some good/rarely heard songs are still to be posted from this period. I am sure I will soon get bored of songs of this period, even if they are Rafi songs. Than there are few more desert songs lined up.
Meanwhile I am likely to keep reverting to older songs in between, but will try to be disciplined and complete the desert series at the earliest.

hearing this song after a gap of many years !!
i am too concentrating on Rafi saab songs from the late seventies and have shared some of them to Atul ji.

There are a few desert songs also. Your write up will certainly make them more interesting, and i would be happy if these ready lyrics are utilised.

thank you very much for this song. i ve seen it a long time ago on TV. i simply love this unusual jodi of large & tiny. they looked gr8 years later when they played the “bichude” parents of Chunkey Pandet in “Aag Hi Aag”.

Thanks for liking the song. I dont remember seeing it before, but the song was a known one. ‘Aag hi aag’ is that Sunny deol, Neelam, film with the song ‘ tu mera tota main teri maina’ ? Must have seen that film.

Thanks for reminding of all those songs. And there are at least for common factors which made me confuse the two films , P. Nahilani, Bappi lahiri, Chunky and Neelam.
