“Vaasna” (1968) was an Anurita Arts Production movie. It was directed by T Prakash Rao. The movie had Raj Kumar, Padmini, Biswajeet, Kumud, Sayeeda Khan, Akashdeep, Rajendranath, Junior Mahmood, Laxmi Chhaya, Manorama, Mukri, Ravikant, Tiwari, Chhugani, David Abraham etc in it.
Four songs from this movie have been discussed in the past. Here is the fifth song from the movie. This song is sung by Rafi. Sahir Ludhianvi is the lyricist. Music is composed by Chitragupta.
This song is picturised as a drunkard song on Raj Kumar and Sayeeda Khan. This song is quite reminiscent of the song Choo lene do naazuk hothon ko from “Kaajal” (1965) not only in the theme but also in the team involved in the two songs. Only the music director (it was Ravi in “Kaajal”) and the teetotaller lady (it was Meena Kumari in “Kaajal”) were different in the two songs.

Lovely song. What lyrics by Sahir saab. And renderred with such gusto by Rafi saab.

Raj kumar`s role seems to be,always related to alcohal in many movies like
Vaasna(alcohal Song also)
Kaajal(2 songs-chhoo lene do,ye zulf agar khulke)
Tirangaa(one song is there- pee le, pee le)
Nayi Roshni(one song posted 2 days ago, in the blog)
Mere Huzoor(during Jahank Jhanak tori baaje paayaliyaa, I think he holds alcohal glass,-Hope I am not wrong)
Laal Patthar(In this also he always hold a glass in hands)

wrong lyrics: In the second antra if you listen carefully to Rafi saab, he says FIZA dekh chuke and not KHIZA dekh chuke. Everywhere on the web people have written khiza… It makes sense, gham ka mahoul, mussarrat ki fiza ( Mussarrat means happiness)..I think I am right, dont know who will be the judge here?
