Song no. 5 is one more duet, which is too good a song to not be known. This is by Shamshad Begum and Mohammed Rafi. I mean songs like this when writing that there are many better and rarer songs which could have been part of the Rafi series. I missed out on including this one.
The duet is from the film Nisbat (1949), written by Majrooh Sultanpuri and composed by Govind Ram. It is a classic romantic song talking about stars, moon and night on one hand, and clouds , waves and the world asleep with the wakefulness of youth, on the other hand.
I was not able to find any information about this film on the net. Even the excel sheet is silent about on whom the song is picturized. Only myswar.com is having information about 8 songs from the film. It appears to be full of solos of Shamshad Begum. But when I tried to find links of some songs, they were not available. So it appears that the film and the songs are lost, except for this beautiful duet.
I think the duets of these two singers originally from Punjab, Shamshad Begum and Mohammed Rafi, are around 150. If only hindi film songs are to be counted the number should be around 130. So they are a manageable figure, that I can look at and find my personal favourites. So here goes :

The list is too small, just goes to show that I knew very few duets of these two singers. Still the list seems incomplete to me, because of some songs where a third singer is involved, which are not featuring here.
Just one more duet after this one, and than I can get on with the solos, hopefully for the rest of this series.
