“Hamaari Manzil” (1949) was directed by O P Datta for Famous Pictures Production. The movie had Prem Adeeb, Nirupa Roy, Gope, Yashodhara Katju, Misra, Badri Prasad, Gyani, Faizee, Randhir, Raj Mehra, Niranjan Sharma etc in it.
Here is a song from this movie. This song is sung by S D Batish, Geeta Dutt (then Roy) and Rafi. Qamar Jalalabadi is the lyricist of this light hearted song. Music is composed by Husnlal Bhagatram.
It is seen that myswar mentions this song as a duet of Rafi and Geeta Dutt. So I guess that HFGK too mentions this song as a duet. Taking cue from this, Rafi excel sheet mentions this as a duet as well and mentions that this song is picturised on Prem Adeeb and Nirupa Roy.
Listening to the song, it is clear that S D Batish is the main singer in the song whose voice is heard for the longest duration in this song. It also reaffirms the often observed fact that most online sources do not cross check facts and blindly copy from others.
I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on the picturisation of this song. My guess is that Gope may have lip synced in S D Batish’s voice in this song.
