Today (17 march 2014) is Holi, the festival of colour. And unbelievably, this is the sixth Holi festival occasion for this blog.
The day of Holi is an occasion when we discuss Holi songs. We have discussed most well known Holi festival songs during the last five occasions. Most radio and TV stations will play the same usual Holi songs that they play every year. Unlike them, we in this blog do not repeat songs and come up with songs that have not been discussed in the past.
Despite having discussed all well known Holi songs, we still have some lovely Holi festival songs still up our sleeves.
Here is a song for the occassion. This song is from “Maashooka” (1953). This song is sung by Suraiyya, Mukesh and chorus. Shailendra is the lyricist. Music is composed by Roshan.
Only the audio of this song is available. Seeing that Suraiyya and Mukesh had acted in this movie, it is easy to guess that the song was picturised on themselves.
Lyrics of this song were sent to me by Nitin Shah.
With this song, the ninth song from this movie to appaer in the blog, “Maashooqa” (1953) joins the list of movies that have all their songs covered in the blog.
I take this opportunity to wish everyone a happy and safe Holi.

Atul ji,
Happy Holi.
There is a very lovely Holi song in film Durgesh Nandini ” Mat maro Shyam pichkari”. I couldn’t locate this song on this blog. If this has not yet been discussed, kindly do the same or otherwise provide a link.
Regards.
