25th March is the birthday of Farooque Sheikh. We would have been celebrating his 66th birthday if had not left us so suddenly. But as they say even God loves good souls.
Let him Rest In Peace wherever he is.
And let us listen to a cute song from Chashme Baddoor (1981). This song which is written by Indu Jain set to tune by Rajkamal. It is also sung by Rajkamal along with Haimanti Shukla.
The mood of this song is typically filmy romantic. And Sai Paranjpe the director decided that it is a wonderful way to spoof. So she actually gives the lead pair dialogues where they say that the situation is perfect for a song. And also wonder how people in movies break into a song at the correct instants when it is needed. Then they decide to try their hand at singing impromptu and we have a cute song.
Farooque Sheikh made a good eye pleasing pair with Deepti Naval in all the movies they starred. And in this song they are very very sweet especially the wide grins and antics. This made the public laugh in the theatres as also in the garden that these two are singing. I won’t be surprised if some trivia cropped up somewhere which said that this was actually shot during lunch hour in some Delhi Park. Because everything in the picturisation suggests of normal daily life activities.
