Here is the promised happy, positive song. Another Rafi solo from the film ‘Goonj’ (1952). The composer for this movie is Sardul Kwatra and lyrics for this song are written by D. N. Madhok. The film stars one time superstar Suresh and Suraiya.
My father was a huge fan of Suresh and actor Shyam once upon a time. I remember, whenever their songs would come on ‘Chhayageet’ he would tell us how and with whom he had seen that movie, during his school days.
This movie “Goonj” has a total of 11 songs. Seven of these are already posted. So this is the eight song from the movie in the blog. As per the Rafi excel sheet this song is picturized on ‘Suresh’. Unfortunately, only an audio link is available on youtube. With the music arrangement and tempo of the song, this has to be a either a tonga or a bullock cart song.
Another interesting thing about this song is the way the word ‘jaana’ is pronounced with a haryanvi twang. Or is it Rajasthani ? It is fascinating to observe different type of dialects spoken by people of one land mass, the tune of the spoken language changes with the change in terrain and is different even from town to town. Sometimes it changes even without change in terrain.
My nephew who has grown up in gulf was here for a day. For the last one year he has been in Belgaum attending Junior college. I never noticed that he was speaking in the typical belgami accent. It took my son mimicking him, and astonished me that it has barely taken a year for the colour of nativity to over power his previous 16 years of stay in a cosmopolitan city and CBSE education. This may also be due to the impressionable age factor and the amount of freedom of movement and interaction with students and cousins in his age group. Not that it is so bad to speak in a typical fashion, but still one hopes he grows out of it, if only to avoid being ribbed for this if he has to go somewhere else for further education.
Meanwhile, this song is sounding too good and leaves one in good spirits.

बहुत ही बढ़िया कंपोजिश्न …. तेज और रिदमिक और खास यानी ठेठ हरियाणवी तर्ज या लहजे पर । इसी रिदम और धुन पर बहुत सारी हरियाणवी रागनियाँ भी काफी लोकप्रिय हुई हैं ।
१९६६ से पहले हरियाणा, पंजाब का ही अभिन्न अंग रहा और पंजाब के ‘शार्दूल क्वात्रा’ साहब हरियाणवी डायलेक्ट से भला विमुख कैसे हो सकते थे ।
उन्होनें रफी साहब से यहां कुछ शब्दों को ठेठ हरियाणवी लहजे में गवाया है … मेरा दिल लेके ना ”जाणा”, बड़ा खतरा है ”जाण” का, मैं परदेसी दूर ”ठिकाणा”, ”जाण” दे मैयका हो दूर है ”जाणा”, दिल लेके ना ”जाणा” । साथ ही रफी साहब से कुछ शब्दों को थोड़ा खींच कर एकदम हरियाणवी लहजे में उन्होनें गवाया है जैसे … दूजे डर मारे मुस्कान का ~~~~, दूर ठिकाणा ~~~~, हो दूर है जाणा ~~~~, इत्यादि ।
”जाणा” शब्द के हरियाणवी भाषा में दोनों अर्थ हैं … एक तो जाना को ही ”जाणा” बोला जाता है जैसे कड़े / कठ्ठे / कित ”जाणा” से … और दूसरा ”जाणा” का अर्थ बनता है ‘जानना’ जैसे मै कोनी जाणू (I don’t know) , तु इस बात ने के जाणे बालीवबूच (You don’t know this subject, fool) ।
साथ में कुछ डायलेक्ट पूरबी भाषा से भी लिए गए है और कुल मिलाकर एक दिलकश रचना रचने में वो बेहद कामयाब रहे ।
हरियाणवी शब्दों का काफी हिंदी फिल्मी गीतों मे समय समय पर लाजवाब प्रयोग सुनने और देखने में आता है … हरियाणवी भाषा खड़ी जरूर है पर है मजेदार ।
