“Baaz” (1953) was directed by Guru Dutt for H G Films. The movie had Guru Dutt, Geeta Bali, Ramsingh, Kuldip Kaur, Sulochana, Yashodhara Katju, Jaswant, K. N. Singh etc in it.
Six songs from this movie have been discussed in the past.
Today is the 14th death anniversary of Majrooh Sultanpuri(1 October 1919 – 24 May 2000). On this occasion, here is the seventh song from “Baaz” (1953).
This song is a seduction song which is sung by Geeta Dutt and lip synced by Kuldip Kaur (I hope I have identified her correctly) for the benefit of Guru Dutt.
Majrooh Sultanpuri is the lyricist. Music is composed by O P Nayyar.

Shades of Pat Boone’s “It’s Cherry Pink and Apple Blossom White”. Of course, there is “Aajaa Zara, aaja zara” by Hemanta which is a straight lift

aaja zara from Pehli Jhalak1957 so Hemantda might have lifted from OP or Cherry Pink whichever came first. English song I heard just now is superb; Its from Underwater 1955. So we can say OP was the originator and English song and Hemantda copied OP.

Geeta Dutt had distinctive way of singinging her voice very sweet, I enjoyed this one …Just remembering in one of Guru Dutt ‘s Comment interviewing – He said he didn’t want to become actor… Director …or Film Producer …Though He did become all of these above with mighty Success…. Guru Dutt was an extraordinary man …well written this post Atulji. ….Shekhar Vaishnav

I am fan of your blog, I want to suggest two almost similar songs which I feel are songs of seduction. @Atul ji- with the title of the song there are two lyrics_by tags (of Atif ji & Shah Saheb). Please correct (or Atif ji’s name needs to be added in the write up also).
