“Manzil” (1979) was directed by Basu Chatterji for Ambika Pictures, Bombay. The movie had Amitabh Bachchan, Mausami Chatterji, Rakesh Pandey, Satyen Kappu, A K Hangal, Urmila Bhatt, C S Dubey, Pravin Paul, Sundar, Anwar Ali, Sushant Bhatnagar, Lalita Pawar, Shriram Laagoo (Special appearance) etc in it.
Today (11 october 2014) is the 72nd birth anniversary of Amitabh Bachchan. He made it big in Hindi movies in 1973 with Zanjeer (1973) and never looked back since. It is interesting to realise that 1973 was 41 years ago, when he was 31 years of age ! How time flies !
Here is a song from “Manzil” (1979) on the occasion of Amitabh Bachchan’s birth anniversary. This song is sung by Kishore Kumar. It is picturised on Amitabh Bachchan who is shown singing this song in a gathering where he is searching for Mausami Chatterji in the audience. Mausami Chatterji is on her way, with her mother (Urmila Bhatt) in tow. The two arrive at the gathering to the relief and delight of Amitabh Bachchan just as the song is half way through.
