While searching for songs of “Village Girl”(1945), I came across a movie of the same title which was produced in 1936. “Village Girl”(1936) had Sabita Devi and Surendra in lead roles.
Here is a rare song from this obscure movie. This song is sung by Surendra. Lyricist of this song is not known. HFGK mentions the name of the music director as just Rao. The uploader of this song on YT mentions the name as Shankar Rao Khatu. It is a name that is new for me. I request our knowledgeable readers to throw light on him as well as on the movie itself.
Only the audio of this song is available. The uploader has uploaded this song with the pictures of Geeta Dutt and Surendra. The song is just a Surendra solo though. Seeing that Surendra acted in the movie, it can be guess that the song was picturised on him as well.
“Village Girl”(1936) makes its debut in the blog with this song.

I belong to a music family and would request you to read about my Late Father Pt. Damodar Hari Joglekar at (http://www.ovguide.com/d-h-joglekar-9202a8c04000641f800000000b53af26). I don’t know who created this site and where did he get the correct information of my Father.
I am sure I will get addicted to Atulji’s site (OUR site).
